What is it?

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (CCT) — a mixture of triglycerides of caprylic (C8) and capric (C10) acids, obtained by fractionating coconut or palm kernel oil. In INCI: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride. Unlike unrefined coconut oil — it does not contain lauric acid, making it significantly less comedogenic and with a lighter texture.

Base oil in oil-serum, dry oil, facial oil, and the oil phase of creams and sunscreens. Acts as a carrier oil for fat-soluble actives (retinol, vitamin E, essential oils) and provides formulas with a light dry-touch feel.

Key Benefits

Light dry-touch texture without greasiness
CCT has one of the lowest greasy feel among plant oils — dry oil effect, quick absorption without residue. Ideal for oily and combination skin that avoids heavy oils.
Excellent solvent for fat-soluble actives
Retinol, vitamin E, ferulic acid, essential oils — CCT is an optimal carrier for all fat-soluble actives due to its chemical stability and neutral scent.
Non-comedogenic emollient
Comedogenic rating — 0–2 (minimal). Softens the stratum corneum and reduces TEWL without the risk of clogging pores. One of the few oil components recommended for acne-prone skin.
