What is it?

Glycerin (гліцерол) — a trivalent alcohol that is a natural component of the skin's NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor). It is obtained as a by-product of soap production or synthetically. A concentration of 5-10% is optimal for hydration. In INCI: Glycerin or Glycerol.

A basic moisturizer in every type of cosmetic — toners, creams, serums, masks. It also acts as a solvent and improves the texture of the formula.

Key Benefits

Powerful hygroscopic hydration
Glycerin attracts water molecules from the air and deeper layers of the skin into the stratum corneum, retaining moisture and preventing transepidermal water loss (TEWL).
Restoration of NMF and barrier
It is a natural component of the skin's NMF — replenishes lost stores of the natural moisturizing factor disrupted by diseases or aggressive care.
Improvement of texture and feel of the product
Provides products with a pleasant glide texture, improving application and tactile sensations during use.
