Argireline Solution 10% is the serum most often sold as 'topical Botox', and that comparison is where the honesty has to start. Acetyl hexapeptide-8 is a peptide that, in lab conditions, interferes with the neurotransmitter signalling involved in muscle contraction — the same broad pathway botulinum toxin acts on, but applied to the skin surface rather than injected into muscle. The gap between those two situations is enormous: a peptide applied topically has to cross the stratum corneum and reach facial muscle in meaningful concentration, and the evidence that it does so well enough to relax expression lines is limited and mostly manufacturer-sponsored. What users typically report is a subtle smoothing of fine expression lines with consistent use over weeks — plausible, but modest, and partly attributable to hydration. The formula itself is clean and minimal: water, propanediol, the peptide, and little else, with no fragrance and low irritation risk. If you want a gentle, low-risk serum and have realistic expectations, it is inexpensive and harmless. If you want the results the nickname implies, this is not that product, and a retinoid remains the better-evidenced choice.
