Willow bark extract — extract of Salix alba (white willow) bark. In INCI: Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract. The key active compound is salicin (glycoside), which partially converts to salicylic acid in the skin. It also contains flavonoids, tannins, and phenolic acids. The concentration of salicin in cosmetic products is significantly lower than the therapeutic dose of salicylic acid.
