Tripeptide-3 (INCI: Tripeptide-3) — a tripeptide with a proline-containing sequence. MW: ~380 Da. Mechanism: competitive blocking of the SNARE complex (SNAP-25, syntaxin, VAMP/synaptobrevin) → reduced fusion of synaptic vesicles → lower release of acetylcholine → weakened neuromuscular signal → less contraction of facial muscles. Difference from Argireline (acetyl hexapeptide-3): Leuphasyl is more specific to another SNARE region → synergy when combined. Water-soluble.
