Tripeptide-29

Collagen signaling peptide — tripeptide-29 (Gly-Pro-Hyp) is the most common repeat in the structure of type I collagen. Its skin-penetrating replacement activates natural collagenogenesis, tightens the contour, and restores the structure of the dermis.

What is it?

Tripeptide-29 — the tripeptide Gly-Pro-Hyp (glycine-proline-hydroxyproline). This is the most repeated sequence in the structure of human type I collagen — every third amino acid in collagen is glycine, proline and hydroxyproline make up ~25% of the total composition. As a matrikine: fragments of degraded collagen signal fibroblasts about matrix damage — the synthesis of new collagen is initiated. Tripeptide-29 mimics this signal without actual collagen destruction.

Anti-aging component in serums and creams for mature skin. Effective at concentrations from 0.001% (1–10 ppm). Combines well with other peptides and ascorbic acid (cofactor for collagen synthesis).

Key Benefits

Matrikine signal for the synthesis of type I collagen
The Gly-Pro-Hyp sequence is recognized by fibroblast receptors as a signal of collagen matrix degradation. The synthesis of new procollagen I is initiated. The "feedback" effect — a natural regulatory loop that the peptide activates without damaging tissues.
Increased skin density and elasticity
The accumulation of new collagen in the papillary and reticular layers of the dermis enhances the mechanical properties of the skin. Reduction in the depth and clarity of wrinkles, improvement of facial contour with regular use over 8–12 weeks.
Synergy with vitamin C and other peptides
Tripeptide-29 stimulates procollagen synthesis, but vitamin C (cofactor for hydroxylases) is necessary for its full maturation. The combination of Gly-Pro-Hyp + ascorbic acid + other peptides (Matrixyl, adenosine) provides the best comprehensive effect.

mature skinnormal skinskin with wrinkles

Tripeptide-29 and hydrolyzed collagen

Tripeptide-29 and hydrolyzed collagen — different ingredients. Hydrolyzed collagen is a mixture of peptides of various sizes, primarily with moisturizing action. Tripeptide-29 is a specific Gly-Pro-Hyp sequence, a cellular signal. As a matrikine, it is much more effective than hydrolyzed collagen for stimulating neocollagenesis.
