What is it?
Saccharide Isomerate (INCI: Saccharide Isomerate) — a complex polysaccharide, structurally similar to glycogen and natural moisturizing factors of the skin (NMF). It is obtained through the enzymatic transformation of plant starch into a branched polysaccharide structure. Mechanism: the unique molecular architecture allows it to bind water in amounts significantly exceeding its own weight and gradually "release" moisture over an extended period (up to 72 hours according to the manufacturer) — unlike typical moisturizers with a faster evaporation effect. Additionally: it forms a protective hydrophilic film that reduces TEWL.
