Resveratrol
The antioxidant of red wine — resveratrol activates sirtuins (longevity genes), protects DNA from damage, and neutralizes free radicals. One of the most powerful polyphenolic antioxidants with proven anti-aging effects.
What is it?
Resveratrol (3,5,4'-trihydroxystilbene) — a stilbene polyphenol synthesized by plants in response to stress (UV, pathogens, drought). Main sources: skin of red grapes, Japanese knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum), peanuts. Main forms: trans-resveratrol (active) and cis-resveratrol. Key property: SIRT1 activator — sirtuin-1 is an NAD+-dependent deacetylase associated with cellular longevity and DNA repair.
Antioxidant serums and anti-aging products. Effective in concentrations of 0.1–1%. Combines with vitamin C, E, and ferulic acid for synergistic antioxidant protection. Unstable in light — best in opaque packaging.

Main Actions
Trans-resveratrol — biologically active form (stable configuration). Cis-resveratrol — less active isomeric form. Quality products contain trans-resveratrol. Unstable in UV and alkaline environments — store in a dark place and check the shade: if it darkens — partial oxidation.
