Quercetin (3,3',4',5,7-pentahydroxyflavone) — a flavonoid found in onions, apples, capers, and green tea. INCI: Quercetin. MW 302 Da. Practically insoluble in water — often used in cosmetics in the form of liposomes or cyclodextrin complexes to enhance bioavailability. Concentration: 0.01–1%.
Antioxidant serums and products for sensitive skin. A synergist of vitamin C — prolongs its stability in formulations. Effective in products for redness and reactive skin.
