Palmitoyl Tripeptide-3
Palmitoyl Tripeptide-3 — a lipopeptide with palmitic acid and a tripeptide that stimulates collagen synthesis through the activation of TGF-beta receptors. Clinically proven reduction in wrinkle depth and increased skin elasticity. Known as Syn-Coll (Pentapharm).
What is it?
Palmitoyl Tripeptide-3 (INCI: Palmitoyl Tripeptide-3) — palmitoylated tripeptide. MW: ~600-700 Da. Mechanism: the peptide part activates TGF-beta receptors → SMAD2/3 phosphorylation → activation of transcription of COL1A1, COL3A1 (collagen I and III). Palmitoyl-‘anchor’: increases lipophilicity → better penetration through the lipid layer of the SC → higher bioavailability than that of the pure peptide. Water-oil solubility due to the amphiphilic structure. TGF-beta-like effect without stimulating cell proliferation (safer profile).
Anti-aging serums and creams, wrinkle treatments, products for improving the elasticity of mature skin.
