Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17
Peptide growth stimulator for eyelashes and eyebrows. Activates keratin genes in hair follicles, increasing the length and density of eyelashes without hormonal mechanisms. A key ingredient in eyelash serums.
What is it?
Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17 — a lipopeptide with a myristoyl (C14) acyl tail and a pentapeptide that serves as a signaling sequence for keratinogenesis stimulation. Mechanism: activation of transcription of keratin genes (KRT6, KRT16) in the follicle matrix cells → increased keratin synthesis → thickening and lengthening of the eyelash/eyebrow hair. INCI: Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17. Often used in conjunction with Myristoyl Hexapeptide-16 for a synergistic effect. Effective concentration: 2–5 ppm.
Serums and conditioners for eyelashes and eyebrows. The effect is comparable to bimatoprost (Latisse) in terms of keratin stimulation mechanism, but without hormonal side effects.

Main Actions
Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17 (keratin stimulator) + Myristoyl Hexapeptide-16 (follicle activator) = standard peptide system in premium eyelash serums. The first enhances keratin synthesis, the second activates inactive follicles. The combination yields better results than each separately. Also complemented with biotin, panthenol, and thiamine for additional nourishment.
