Coconut Oil
The most famous natural oil in cosmetics — coconut oil is an effective emollient and nourishing component for the body and hair. However, it is not suitable for everyone’s face: due to lauric acid in high concentrations, it can provoke acne.
What is it?
Coconut oil (Cocos Nucifera Oil) — obtained from the flesh of the coconut. In INCI: Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil. Composition: ~50% lauric acid (C12), ~17% myristic (C14), ~9% palmitic (C16), ~8% caprylic/capric acids. Virgin coconut oil — cold-pressed, with a characteristic aroma. Refined — odorless, higher stability.
Nourishing emollient in body creams, hair products, lip balms, and massage oils. In formulas — as a carrier oil and texture agent. In hair — effectively reduces damage due to its ability to penetrate the hair cortex.
