Bergamot
Aromatic citrus from Calabria — the base of Earl Grey and a favorite perfumery component. Bergamot combines antibacterial and brightening properties with a unique fresh scent. The bergapten-free variant is safe for daytime use.
What is it?
Bergamot — oil or extract from the peel of Citrus Bergamia. Contains linalyl acetate (30-40%), linalool, limonene, and bergapten (furanocoumarin). Bergapten is photosensitizing — modern cosmetics use FCF (furanocoumarin-free) bergamot. In INCI: Citrus Bergamia Peel Oil Expressed or Citrus Bergamia Fruit Extract.
Used in perfumery cosmetics, cleansing toners, antibacterial acne treatments, and aromatherapy body products.
