Bemotrizinol (bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine / BEMT) is a synthetic UV filter approved in the EU, Canada, and Australia but not yet approved by the FDA in the US. It absorbs UV radiation across a wide range and can also provide a quenching effect, stabilizing other UV filters.
