Acetyl Octapeptide-3
SNAP-8 — an advanced analogue of Argireline with a peptide twice as long. Acetyl octapeptide-3 more effectively blocks neuromuscular transmission and reduces expression wrinkles. It is used where a stronger effect is needed than that of acetyl hexapeptide-3.
What is it?
Acetyl Octapeptide-3 — an acetylated octapeptide, trade name SNAP-8® (Lipotec). It is an extended version of SNAP-25 mimetic compared to acetyl hexapeptide-3 (Argireline). Peptide sequence: EEMQRRAD — covers a larger fragment of SNAP-25 than Argireline (6 amino acids). It competitively inhibits the SNARE complex, preventing the fusion of vesicles with the neurotransmitter with the membrane — the contraction signal transmission does not occur.
Used in the same products as Argireline, but in more concentrated or premium formulas. Effective concentration 5–10%. Especially effective around the eyes and forehead.

Main Actions
Argireline (acetyl hexapeptide-3) — 6 amino acids, basic level of blockade. SNAP-8 (acetyl octapeptide-3) — 8 amino acids, stronger competition for the binding site of SNAP-25. SNAP-8 is more effective at the same concentrations. But both are non-toxic, without muscle paralysis, the effect is reversible and depends on the regularity of application.
